I notice at work here this morning at work that we were switched on a business plan from 30gig to 40 gig / month and the data count has been reset to zero so we have 6 days to use 40 gig before the end of the current billing cycle ends on the 12th.

Regards,

The speeds I quoted above are off the St Albans exchange, which is ADSL2+ enabled. At the moment I'm using a D-Link G604T (the wireless Telecom-supplied one) which says in the router config its using a ADSL2+ profile, but according to the Telecom website these routers purchased before Oct 2007 (which mine was) don't support ADSL2+. So I'm a bit confused as to whether I could actually acheieve a higher speed or not.

I switched over to the advanced business broadband plan... I was already on a FS/FS plan with Telecom already, so performance was the same.

Planwise - 60gb is great!

The twowire modem is great. It offers quite a detailed view of your line and its performance.

intial impressions were good.
But for some reason now Apple Trailers don't seem to load as fast as they used to anymore which is very suprising...
It's taking a good deal of time to load a trailer. Perhaps it's apple? But I read somewhere that Xnet actually mirrors the apple trailers so I'm not sure
Can someone please try it out and see if it's just me?
www.apple.com/trailers
Try loading a large trailer or a 480p HD one..

I tried the 480p trailer for Hank & Mike for you -- it downloaded at a faster rate than it played, so no buffering was required, it just started playing for me.

This doesn't look good...
I did a DSL speed test on nzdsl.co.nz
Download Speed: 267 kbps (33.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 49 kbps (6.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
But my modem reports
Downstream Rate:4319 KbpsUpstream Rate:985 Kbps
Guess it's time to call XTra

New Data cap is awesome,

However

I just logged into my modem to find

Attenuation 20.0dB 44.0dB Connection rate 4800 Down / Kbps 160 Kbps UP

Should i ring Telecom and ask WTF is going on

On a hunch by comments from another user.
I disconnecetd my LInksys wag160n and connected in my old SMC Adsl2+ router and check this out...

Linksys WAG160N

SMC Wireless ADSL2+ RouterSYNC: 4725kbp / 887kbps     Noise Down: 12db  Attenuation Down: 39db

Any ideas? Is my linksys wag160n modem configured incorrectly perhaps?
Because this issue has only been happening since we swittched from GO LARGE to the ADSL2+ pro plan

  Downstream Upstream

More Info

Attenuation 50dB 60dB Connection rate 1792 Kbps 672 Kbps

Do you by chance have any QOS settings turned on in the WAG160N?
Try turning them off and I think you will see your speed go right back up.
