After using the XT network for a while I have started to notice a few annoyances with the messaging component. Now, I musing an iPhone 3G with nzbullets carrier file so I canot rule this out as the issues, but I figure I would see if anyone esle on other handsets are having the same issues.

1.Multipart Txting - Large incoming txts are always split instead of being joined on the phone (this issue has already been explained in earlier threads) BUT I now seem to always get 2 copies of the second part of the message.

2. TXT delays - I have been having up to 9 hour (!!) delays in recieving txts from both on and off  the telecom network. As I need to receive server error messages in a prompt manner, this is a serious issue for me.

3. Pxt/MMS - sending an image direct from the iPhone camera send fine, but the recipient only receives a thumbnail of the image, not the whole thing. Is this due to file size? The MMS settings have a max message size of 614400 (which is larger than the images off the camera). This is to Vodafone customers. Not tried with other telecom customers yet. Receiving MMS messages is fine.

Anyone else having similar issues? Any fixes? If this fits the OSX mobile thread better, feel free to relocate it.

Cheers,

Matthew

Heh, I guess after the number of views and the stony silence that others aren't suffering the same issues. I'll start by blaming my iPhone and start troubleshooting from there I guess.

PXT/MMS image conversion is usually done in the MMSC, which converts based on what it believes (or the HLR says) is the type of phone at the destination.  I can believe that if the receiving party has changed their phone the settings may be wrong.

TXT delays, I don't know about that one.

Multi-part texting, no idea.
