Is someone able to explain to me the process of having a landline connection activated (when wiring is already in place)?  I have ordered a second line from Telecom and I am just curious as to whether it is all done electronically, or whether a technician has to physically flip a switch at the local exchange.

Hi

If the Wiring is in place, then the connection is done at a network level.

Regards

If the 2nd line is all setup and no additional wireing is needed then its done at the exchange, else someone has to come around to connect the "2nd pair" in the phone cable to your place (or even install new cable)
