So just went to the old mans house today, He wanted to sign up to Netflix, helped him out and checked his plan.

Thought I should change his broadband plan to unlimited now as it pretty reasonable priced and makes sense if a few people in the house will be using Netflix now.

The current price online for unlimited ADSL with phone line is $99.  I cant see mention that this price is only for new customers. When I spoke the CSR he could only offer unlimited to the old man for $105 as he is existing and not entitled to new pricing.

Is this correct? I completely under stand not getting new hardware or other "free" perks if you sign up as a new customer, but surely the price is the same for everyone?

I know its only $6 but I don't see the mention of this, and the principle of charging different depending on new Vs old is one way to really make the old customers look else where...... Food for thought.

Rant over :-)

Not naked, That would in theory be only $89, He has a POTs line, and far as I can see from online that should cost $99

Ahhhh I think I see why, Wasn't told on phone though...  "Price shown for 12 month sign up only"

Can existing customers not on contract sign up for 12 months?

Nope, He wishes. Stuck off the end of a long cable from an exchange. Chorus checker says 10Mbps only, Fibre between July and Dec 2019.

A semi Main Rd in Auckland doesn't get the good stuff haha

Draytek Vigor 120 plugged into TP Link TL-WR2543N

Unsure what the vodafone one would be, he has been a broadband customer with voda for about 5 years at a guess.

The $99 price *is* available if they're happy to sign on to a 12 month term. There's a $10 a month discount available too if he has on account mobile with Vodafone.

I complained on the Vodafone website forum about this, and they added a $10 credit to my account for the next 12 months.

Edit: We were paying $108 - $10 mobile account discount = $98 a month for unlimited adsl.
If we were a new customer we would be paying $99 - $10 with the mobile account credit.
