Well, the PAP2T that I ordered from Ascent turned up yesterday morning, so I plugged it in before going to work.  At lunch time I rang WxC sales and signed up for VFX and was told to expect 2-3 working days for provisioning.  I thought 'Not too bad - I can live with Tuesday/Wednesday next week' and was most impressed to find the provisioning email turn up 40 minutes later, with everything active by the time I got home.

Excellent work WorldxChange, you keep exceeding my expectations each and every time I need to contact you.

I totally agree with you. I have never had any problems with WorldXchange when I have phoned in It wasnt that quick with me when I signed up for VFX just before last Christmas but it was up and running within the 2 - 3 day timeframe. I am looking forward to Monday morning when all of us VFX users can get on board with naked DSL from Xnet(Xnet Fusion). I hope that will be just as quick as I am looking forward to getting rid of Telecoms POTS service. Also welcome to Geekzone forums too.

When I signed up with WxC for ADSL I was told 3 to 5 working days to get Telecom to do their side of things, yet I was connected within 2 days and my line has never had ADSL on it.  Then when I signed up for VFX it took a bit longer, because they got the MAC address wrong (I have heared about that a few times) but a quick help desk request sorted it out within 24h.  And the only time I phoned them they answered the phone within 2 rings, and a real person!

Apparently Telecom will allow a limited number of ports per ISP per month to give every ISP equal opportunity.  I am not 100% sure about this, but recall reading something in that line from the Telecom Wholesale site.  Then again, the same document talked of only ADSL and 8Mbps as the maximum speed, no mention of ADSL2+.  Looked like it was a draft rather than a finished document.  I hope WxC can give us more info on this or manage to get a bigger share of the pie.  After all, they are contracted to install VFX at a pilot site in Orewa (North of Auckland) where Telecom is trialling fiber to the home.

Anyway, I also want to say "good on you" for about 5 or 10 times I had to contact you.  How about the next poll on your web site being "are you happy with the WxC service"?  Or "do you consider WxC the best ISP you have ever dealt with"?

Thanks John, Lance and Niel we do apprecaite the comments, it's nice to have good customers like yourselves that do pass on some good feedback.

John I'm glad we have sorted your VFX out for you, guess I need to be making my provsioning team the coffee on Monday,

Hopefully lance Fusion should be all set to go, the process can be quite complicated for Telecom as we have found out over the last couple of months, but the provsioning team are working hard to chase up and rectify issues when they do occur so we will see how we go, interesting times ahead.

Niel, we think we will have a pretty good share of the pie the FTTH project covers all of NZWink, the number of ports limitation has now also been removed I believe and was only in place while we were working out the kinks with Telecom, if we had more than that then the system could have been backlogged really badly with the issues that were found during the trial process and then we really would have had a lot of un happy customers.

Yes I am a employee of WxC (My Profile) ... but I do have my own opinions as well Wink

Well I now also have a story to share about how happy I am with WorldXchange service. Yesterday (Monday 7th) I rang Xnet to apply for their naked DSL product Xnet fusion and after going through the signup process I was told it would take 6 - 10 days. Yesterday afternoon I went out for a few hours and arrived back home to find a voice message left on my VFX service. Upon listening to the voice message I was told that my naked DSL service will now be done tomorrow (Wednesday 9th). So there you have it they have exceeded my expectations as well.Laughing

After several months of trying to convince dad that we need to change isps he finally agreed :D

So I gave Xnet a call and then while i was awqay at shool the next day turned out that they had called saying that it was all go.

However I didnt change us oer for a few days. as our urrent proider seemed to still be connected, and we had a bit of bandwidth to finish using :P

Now tonight I get to sign up for VFX so hopefully that should be good.
