Wondering if Vodafone reps can help me here, have a friend who moved into a new Flat in Kelburn (not a legally separated address/greedy landlord not doing things properly)

As a result there is only a single TLC and the ONT installed in the other flat

Spark/Skinny don't offer 4G Wireless there, however Vodafone do - I suspect Vodafone 4G is IS CG-NAT but wondering if you can get a Static IP to resolve this, I know you can on Spark

Hi there,

Static IP addresses are not available on the shared Consumer 4G/5G plans.

Thanks

Michael

Any possibility of running a Cat6 cable from the ONT to somewhere in the new flat and having the second port on the ONT provisioned??

Static IP is available on Business Wireless Broadband plans:

https://www.vodafone.co.nz/business/wireless-broadband/

The plans it's available on have it called out as an optional add-on (e.g. the 4G Unlimited one). The 300GB and 600GB variants are shared with Consumer, which is the reason it's available on some plans and not others.

As an aside, it was my understanding that Chorus would allow the installation of a second ONT within the same property for no extra charge - when I worked in telco customer service we'd do a couple of these a year. This may have changed since I've last looked at it, but if your friend hasn't already talked to an ISP or Chorus it might be worthwhile having a chat?

What about HFC as a option?

Yes that's the next step
