Recently the carrier name changed from Voda NZ to Vodafone. Tonight it has changed again from Vodafone to odafone to finally dafone. Anyone else seeing this?

If I have Wifi calling - I'm seeing 'Wifi Calling'... however if I turn off Wifi, seeing 'dafone'

Maybe the thuglife has chosen Vodafone NZ?

My older Android (+4 years old) still shows 'Vodafone NZ'.

Yeah some Androids don't have their carrier name changed for some reason (unless you put in a different carrier's sim ofc)

Good grief. It appears to be an ad campaign which has some sort of filming going on location in Queenstown.

Don't think we will see a rebrand until at least 2029

https://www.stuff.co.nz/business/112669368/vodafone-nz-sold-for-34b

That deal would also have seen Vodafone paid out $1.25b in cash from the merged firm which would also have had to pay Vodafone $314m over 10 years for the right to use the Vodafone brand.

If I could cut a 30 million dollar a year expense from my business that easily, you can bet I would. Presumably they can end the name licensing agreement sooner if they wished.

Confirmed here too. I’m bewildered at the network names and the frequency of changes.

I can somewhat relate to the seasonal network names but really I really question the wisdom of doing this on the prod network.
