I am having an issue with being able to Browse the internet at home this morning, i woke up to find that i could not browse to any websites and or download any emails.

I am using one of the Vodafone Broadband Routers, and gave it a reboot as i did this last night to be able to get to a few different websites that just wouldn't load.

This didn't help and while i can ping vodafone's name servers if i try and ping any website domain names it just says the name server cannot resolve (or something to that effect).

I am going to try another modem i have when i get back home, but just wanted to know if there are any issues that could be causing this.

Did you try calling Vodafone to ask for help?

i will be if i change the modem and still get the same result, but since i am @ work (and dont have enough time to sit on the phone) i thought i would post here.

Can you ping other ip addresses?
You could try other dns servers to see if it fixes it.

And you haven't installed any new antispyware software, or any other software for that matter in the last week? Have you checked your browser configuration to see if there's a proxy configured there?

Thanks for the responses, i've been pretty busy with work and unable to comment, but it seems as if it was just localised to my desktop... i had not installed anything or changed my antivirus so im not sure what was happening.. while i could ping server ip's i just could not get any luck browsing or pinging to domain names.... even though NSlookup would get me the ip addresses for sites.

I ended up formatting and doing a fresh install with Windows 7... this has resolved the issue, and i had been meaning to do it for a while....

No idea what caused it though, as Malware Bytes was clean....
