Hi

I was wondering if anybody has used Vodafone's Localzone with an android handset or know if it's possible, I'm looking at upgrading my nokia to a new smart phone but don't want to lose my localzone.

Thanks for any help

Cheers

Hi

Just an update, I borrowed a friends old X10 mini pro and localzone worked fine, so I signed up and got a new Samsung Galaxy mini which also works fine with localzone.

If anybody from Vodafone is reading this you should update your phone list on the website

Cheers

I always thought localzone worked with any GSM/3G handset.

Hi

I'm wasn't sure and checked out the vodafone website
https://help.vodafone.co.nz/app/answers/detail/a_id/6477
which doesn't have any android phones and when I called customer services they said that it probably wouldn't work with any phone not on the list, however as you have pointed out it might just work with any 3g phone.

Cheers

Yeah....Vodafone has always had a 'gap' in keeping their product interaction information current. Hard to blame them on one level....bringing lots of good new stuff to market and not being able to "mesh" every item and related docs. But that doesn't mean it wouldn't be nice if they DID.....

localzone will work with 98% of 2G / 3G handsets but don't sign up for a iphone or smart plan or any non approved plan or my script I run once a month will take your localzone service offline

Nothing confusing about it at all,

Easy plan can also have localzone

You'll need to be on a You Choose plan to get Vodafone local zone, have a compatible handset and 256k SIM card.

Any questions fire away I am the localzone engineer

The LZ feature is not built into the Smart / iPhone plans / business plans

Its not the matter of enabling it, Its a complete code change to those plans
