Does anyone here know if there are any generally available (GURL) frequencies in NZ available that fall within a 4G/5G band? For example, USA has CBRS. Looking at utilising an SDR experimentally to learn more about cellular ops. Done a fair bit of research on the RSM website but wasn’t able to find if we had any near equivalent. Obviously commercial bands are out and many from other regions are used for other purposes here.

I think it's OK to play with the normal frequencies if you don't radiate.  A previous employer bought a CDMA network simulator and an attenuator and enough bits and bobs to attach it directly to the antenna port on a suitable phone - this was required for software testing of apps on phones only available in the US market.

And then there's https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LTE_in_unlicensed_spectrum if you can find any handsets that support it.
