Hi All,

I have a setup that means my 2Talk numbers terminate in two places - my laptop for when I'm mobile and a FreePBX install at home, so that we can use "normal" phones for making and receiving calls.

At home, we also use chan_mobile to connect the mobile phones to Asterisk to make and receive calls (The outbound routes are configured to use the mobile phones first before the 2talk lines) - and this is the reason that I don't just use 2Talks cloud solution.

What I would like to do is to use the Voicemail that comes with 2Talk, instead of the voicemail internal to FreePBX - but what I need to do is retrieve the voicemail information from 2Talk and pass it through to Asterisk.

I've tried both "mwi" and "unsolicited_mailbox" (from, but haven't had any luck with either.  I was reading through the debug information, but given I was doing this very late at night and not getting anywhere, I decided to put it down for a while and see if anyone in the GZ community had any experience with this.

Just as an update, I have abandoned the idea of trying to pass through the MWI (for now, it's probably an itch I'll scratch at) and what I'm looking at doing is checking the mail via the IMAP account for 2Talk's voicemail, and polling frequently to see if there are messages waiting.

At this stage, what I plan to do is have a hook on the hangup from voicemail to then poll for voicemail.

This allows me to poll for waiting messages every 5 to 10 minutes, but if you check the messages, then once you hang up the poll to the voicemail should turn off the MWI fairly quickly.

Let me know if anyone wants to see the code that achieves this after.
