My computer has XP Home Edition Windows 5.1 with Service Pack 2. I don't have a "Bluetooth Devices' (or similar) icon in my Control Panel. Should I have? How do I get this icon (or feature) so that I can ActiveSync my Harrier PDA using Bluetooth.
i shall help you to the best of my ability, normally when you install a bluetooth product, the program sets up shortcuts in certain areas of your pc, Start menu, shortcuts also on your desktop, and in control panel???
Go to start menu, Control panel, and depending on exactly how you have your pc setup, you should be able to access bluetooth configuration/devices???
Of course when you require to use a bluetooth device with your pc, you must pair them first in order to exchange information???
is your bluetooth built in, or did you purchase a bluetooth dongle???
thanks for the reply. I don't have bluetooth built in. I have a bluetooth dongle and downloaded BlueSoleil software which runs great, but nothing has shown up in the Control Panel.
You don't need to have the Bluetooth icon in the control panel to use ActiveSync. You only need to create an Incoming COM port using BlueSoleil, and right-click the ActiveSync icon in the sytem tray, select Connection Settings and chose the port just created. Then from your Pocket PC you pair the devices (if already paired delete and recreate).
