My pc is a plethora of problems right now, one graphics card is being iffy,my ram keens disarming,   my motherboard has a weird Ethernet issue that requires me to disable and re-enable the driver every boot just to get it to work etc etc.

Now I just had to re-install windows to get everything working again and I've put the PC into performance settings (under advanced system settings) just to try and reduce the load on the hardware as much as I can.

Any other methods that you know of to reduce hardware stress? Can't quite afford to replace MBoard just now, maybe in 3 months time but not now..

Ive read about people using third party Explorer shells that are less of a burden and just disabling every service they don't need/use.

Any other tips?

thanks in advance!

Have you identified the root cause? Is this really a hardware problem or a mix of hardware and software?

Are you sure there is no malware installed on this PC?

Fresh install

The Ethernet issue has been persistent over several OS installs (Ubuntu and Win)
My GPU has been dust damaged I think and the RAM was probably Old at time of installation.
A second (considerably weaker) graphics card is running in parallel which may be causing issue.

I think the root of the problem is MBoard and RAM need replacing as well as the GPU

If there is one problem that can cause all the issues it is more likely than 3 - 4 random coincidental problems.

Find it.

What ware the synptoms?

For windows to minimize load don 't use the computer. No other way. Even booting itself is a stress

I wouldn't be interested in configuring Windows until I'd sorted the hardware problems. If you have a memory problem it will produce many more problems with Windows and data.

So have you run hardware diagnostic tests on all or just the suspect components?

If the problem with the ethernet happens on both Windows and Linux I'd guess the NIC is fried. The same for your GPU and RAM which you seem to think have problems.

Maybe time to replace computer?
