I'm after some advise from whoever may be able to help solve a probably easy problem.

We upgraded our machine (desktop) to Windows 10 and after the last update are having problems with the network.  When we assign a static IP address to the network card, it shows we have "internet access" but we are unable to surf at all using IE or Chrome.  If we change this back to DHCP we then are able to surf no problems at all.  I have tried uninstalling the card, latest drivers, pretty well everything a non-IT person would try but are still getting the same result.

I have printers on the network, other laptops and IP cameras, all set with Static IP addresses and they are working fine.  The Mikrotik is not showing any piece of equipment with the address I have chosen, so to rule out an IP conflict I have tried multiple different address, all to no avail.  The reason for the static is this machine is running an NVR.

Any help would be much appreciated.

My bad, should of really looked at it more before posting for a help.  Note to self and others in a sinking boat......check the DNS settings are for MyRepublic NEW ZEALAND and not MR Singapore, I'm putting full blame on Google for this one, searched MyRepublic DNS NZ and just chose the one at the "TOP", we live and learn, but it is going the way it should now.

Thanks for looking :)

I also have a networking connection problem after the latest Windows 10 update (ironically, on Friday 13 th).

Has anyone else encountered this problem, and if so,is there a fix, please?

After the update  my computer will not connect automatically to wireless modem (Vodafone Home Gateway SGH1500),

requiring that I power off then power on again modem.

Clicking on the desktop IE icon to open browser results in the 'Windows Network Diagnostics' popup box inviting me

to click on 'fix problem' button, which does some diagnostic tests and advises me that 'network protocols are missing

on this computer'... and doesn't connect.

However, restarting the modem does allow modem to connect to computer to establish internet connection.

I phoned Vodafone technical support, advised them of the problem, and received claim that the latest Windows update

failed to include 'LAM wireless' code updates, therefore it is a Microsoft responsibility, and I should contact Microsoft.

I phoned Microsoft customer support, described the problem, and was told that it is an ISP (Vodafone in my case)

responsibility because the Wireless modem codes are outdated.

Has anyone else encountered this problem, please?

If need be, I could restore to the previous Windows date before the latest update on computer, but that will sooner

or later lead to other problems. Also, although it is an annoying inconvenience, it is tolerable. I am old enough to

remember 'dial-up' connections, and I tolerated that...
