Hi All

I've downgraded a Sony Vaio Z series VPCZ117GGX to Windows XP Pro but I can not find any Drivers for the Hot Keys (FN).
Also having issues when I put in a Sony data card it doesnt recognise it but it does recognise external card readers.
Does anyone know where I can get drivers for these.
I've searched esupport.sony.com

Computer Specs can be located at http://www.techdomain.co.nz/store/Details.asp?ProductID=368267
Had to down grade for work purposes from Windows 7 Ultimate

Cheers

Why not just stay with windows 7 and use virtual XP to run any non-compatible applications?

it's 2010, with Windows 7 and VT-x on that Sony VAIO Z, there's no reason not using Virtual PC and XP Mode.

Pretty sure that Sony were one of the first vendors to stop providing XP driver support for new machines - and this was relatively early on in the Vista OS cycle.

+1 totally agree.  Windows 7 can do it all.

Slightly off topic, but when is Windows XP support ending for good?

Here's a list of Microsoft Windows Life-cycle policy: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/lifecycle/default.mspx (which seems to be out of date)

Then found this link here: http://support.microsoft.com/lifecycle/

And you definitely won't find XP driver for this 2010 VAIO Z model. They don't support it.

You may have to find its hardward components and drivers yourself and in hope you can hack it all together to make it work.

Good luck.

Probably it is classed as Notebook Control and Utilities?

I just noticed... the driver list you got there is for VPCZ11GGX not the "117"!!!

When searching for VPCZ117GGX, none is found.

Ah!! After drilling into Sony Australia (as VPCZ117GGX is not available in NZ) and here's what I found: http://www.sony.com.au/support/download/product/vpcz117gg
