Hey guys I'm currently running Windows and Linux (cant decide between Ubuntu or Mint)

Now I currently have 2 partitions, one for win and one for linux?

Would it be efficient and plausible to have a 3rd partition (NTFS) to put all my shared media such as music, movies, folders etc? so that both distros can access it?

Thoughts?

Yes, sounds like a good option to me.

As mint and Ubuntu is debian based, they should both include the ntfs-3g userspace driver to read and write to NTFS partitions.

I haven't used Windows for a number of years, but I do recall you can access your Windows partition from Linux anyway since it uses NTFS.

Yea linux can access Win, but Win cant access Lin (ext4)

But what I was asking and have since done is made a shared partition for my stuff and a seperate partition for each OS so that theirs no conflict and It also allows me to move around the partitions with the OS's on without risking damage to data

Fair enough. I found the whole process too messy and just gave up on Windows in the end. I ended up having double up of all my media. Switching OS just to play games seemed pointless to me too. Lot of people do it though.

Unfortunately I'm addicted to League of Legends so I have to be able to play it, I go into withdrawals if I don't
