Wondering if anyone has written script for Raspberry Pi with the PiFace digital io board to use SNMP to check status of inputs.
Looking to use The Dude as the SNMP server and poll the Pi to get the status of the io pins if this is possible.

I have manged to make it print when the inputs change state but really want to be able to poll it.
A real linux newbie here so I am struggling

I do something similar, but not with SNMP, I am using MQTT to publish messages when something happens (and also use it to allow external systems to publish messages causing pins on the PiFace to go HIGH/LOW). My script is written in python, but happy to share if you think it might help?

For anyone else that might be interested I have published by code on GitHub;

Will handle direct GPIO IO, or via the PiFace extension board.
