I've just acquired a PinePhone!  Great excitement!

Are there any NZ tips out there e.g. VoLTE settings for NZ carriers? (esp Vodafone/Kogan)

And are any Geekzoners using one, with reports on which OS / desktop environment works well for them?

How are you coping with running the COVID scanner app?

I've installed Mobian as debian has been my distro of choice for longer than I care to remember...

was going to say all i've read about them is that they're not quite ready as a daily driver but then yesterday they published a survey of users and quite a large % are using it as a daily. might have to look at it again.

you think it's usable? is it a pro version?

cheers

I see a bit of discussion about them on the Sailfish OS Forum. I know they run Sailfish or at least a community port of it.

I use Sailfish on a Sony Xperia XA2. The official version of Sailfish has Android Support and runs most Android apps. I think Waydroid or similar might be used by the Pinephone.

The only functionality on the Covid app that is missing for me is Bluetooth tracing as there is no pass through for the Bluetooth stack to Android apps for other than audio profiles.

There's the Jolla Store and Storeman and Chum for Sailfish apps.
