Hi everyone,
First post here, has been reading from time to time, good place.
Anyway, I just bought a Mac Mini to replace my MacBook Pro 13. I was going to swap the drive between the two when I sell the MBP because I've upgraded the notebook with a Momentus XT Hybrid SSD. And I want to keep that fast drive in the MacMini.
After a bit of research and a few YouTube DIY videos, I've done the physical swap no problems. Now I start the MacMini with the "old" drive, I was expecting the computer to throw a big fuss about being "wrong drive in a wrong system" (as they do in Windows). Nothing! Boot straight into the Desktop and everything is working. Even TimeMachine is asking if I want to "Inherit the old backup".
Now question is....
This is just too good to be true. Or is it?
I got all the back up so I am not majorly concern if it crashes tomorrow. But if it turns out I need to re-install, I am hoping to do it before the long weekend finishes.
Can someone please shine some light on this whether I "NEED" to reinstall or if there is any implications if I don't.
They are a Mac Book Pro 13" mid-2010 vs Mac Mini 2.3GHz mid-2011.
