Hi Guys,

I have just started a new role working from home and need to buy a office chair. Any one got recommendations for a mid range one?

Looking for one that is rated for 8 hours use. I have tried the ones from Warehouse Stationary and they all seemed to be lower quality.

Chairs!

Contact Seaquest Ltd.

Their website is a bit basic but their chairs are great and their ongoing support is OUTSTANDING.

You can buy direct from them if you contact them.  They don't seem to have everything they stock showing on the website.

I've have their chairs for all of the 20 plus years I've been working from home and I've just recently bought a Ravello Exec Black Leather chair from them.  Very nice.

They are an excellent company to deal with.

It was definitely not cheap, but I splashed out last year and got myself a Knight Group Plymouth..

Interesting. I happen to be looking for a chair myself right now also. Lucky Warehouse Stationary were out of the one I was thinking of when I went last night. Down the office chair rabbit hole I go!

I have been using a Herman Miller Mirra chair for a long time. These chairs are very comfortable, all day chairs and are very robust.

THat's correct I have a couple of WHS chairs (their mid- high end ones).  My elbows hurt after 10 mins. (no padding on the elbow/arm rests). Thought I have to say the rest of my body was very comfortable on it, I could sleep in it!

I went into Officemax, sat on all the chairs, and purchased the one I liked best that fit my budget.

I think the Magnums are great from WHS. I spent 6-8 hours a day in one, no issues. I have seen them as cheap as < $200.

Being cheap, could I possibly ask if anyone thinks these are any good for $99. Says 6-8 hours if that means anything and seem to have reasonable padding.

I was cheap for years, wore out many cheaper chairs, absolutely don't regret spending $700 on a decent one last year and wonder why I didn't do it sooner given how much time I spend in front of my PC.

Unfortunately cheap would be fairly compulsory at the moment, especially as I've just bought a new router and access point and also a new Insinkerator a few weeks back.

I absolutely cannot use a chair that has no neck support. My chair is a full length that wraps my whole body. Doesn't have lumbar support so I can't say whether it is important or not. But for me the poorly padded elbow rest is annoying.

For me I think I just need some decent padding that doesn't get squished down to the base and hurt the back of my legs.

Try and get a "good" one second hand from TradeMe or something?

Thats a thought, though postage / collection could be a problem being in Whakatane. Shall have to restrict the region to Tauranga / Rotorua.
