I sometimes get ads (YT) of some celeb like Kevin Bacon or Metallica advertising some worthy cause where I'll get a chance to win a restored F150 or similar.

I presume I need to pony up some cash to be in to win but because it is an ad I am duty bound to skip and bypass the detail.

Are these scams or are they legit? I just did a 'google search' and couldn't find anything.

Yeh, not like selling NFT's where you get something tangible that will grow in value :-)

You're likely talking about OMAZE. From what I've read / watched on YouTube they are legit but are basically a marketing company.

Smaller less known charities will pay them (overly high) commissions to fundraise on their behalf because even after all the fees they're still likely to make more money that they would have had they tried to get donations themselves.

That sounds like the one. So technically not a scam but a waste of time to an overseas ad viewer, I presume.

You'd think google and their advertisers would have some region awareness.

I had a quick flick through terms and conditions.

The competition is open to non USA residents but you have to pay the shipping vrs free shipping in USA which is reasonable in my opinion.

Makes a change from all those other competitions online and you tube which are usa only....

Now those should be limited to USA region only or a large disclaimer shown only to USA etc.
