Yet still the government wants to tax us. Hmm, something is amiss here.

I know there are dozens of sites protesting carbon taxes, and I have never been a militant sort but I am starting to think about buying a khaki jacket and tea towel scarf, tramp down to the beehive and demand an audience with........oh whatever !!

GST rises, emissions taxes. Just who's pocket does it go in ?

I bought a coffee from one of the roadside trucks the other day and they advertised their price increase from $3.50 to $4 due to the increase in GST. I had already paid by then, but was outraged and told them so.

Just arrived back from Aussie. Cheapest petrol price in Queensland was $AUD1.15 per litre. Why is it $1.81 per litre here.

Could you please point me in that article where they show a correlation between weather data manipulation and tax?

And prices raising more than the GST increase is not a government problem or tax issue. It's a problem of greed retailers.

This is my last post in this topic, because I can already it will go to the slippery slop of trolling and counter-trolling.

Looking online now current weekend pricing is around A$1.27 per litre. That equates to NZ$1.65.

Due to differences in taxes etc there has been a variance of around 20c per litre in recent years, so right now it could be argued our pricing is pretty good right now. Based upon AIP data there has been an upward trend in pricing in the past week but MED data has showed importer margins getting close to 20c again.

You told the wrong person. The Ministry of Consumer Affairs is very interested in these types of situations, as it violates the Fair Trading Act to lie about the reasons for the increase.

No, all 4 statements are true.
Japan 100 years ago had the same population New Zealand has now.
We can conserve till every Greenie is happy, unfortunately it doesn't deal with the problem, which is our geometric population growth. With more people we have more energy requirements from limited non renewable resourses. Using only renewable energy wont work as that will just pump up the heat.
It is a very simple equation and nothing we do to address Global Warming can solve it, because GW, polution, poverty, and carbon taxes are just a sympton and not the cause.

The cause is US (not the United States idiot), and the solution is putting aside our differences and working together to use what energy reserves Earth has intelligently. The probably that will happen is so close to zero.....so bassically we're all gonna die!
