So I paid for a full year of https://fullflavour.nz/ Residential Fibre - Go Fast Fibre 300/100 - (01/05/2023 - 30/04/2024) for $950, a saving of two months on my usual monthly $95 bill.

But I just received a bill for the past month - the first I prepaid for - that states I owe $95, with no mention of the $950 credit I ought to have.

I'm concerned and I'm hoping their Xero billing simply doesn't show amounts in credit… but if so I find that rather astonishing.

I guess I'll find out for sure in another 18 days when my usual billing date is, and I'd normally get a direct debit for $95. But even if I'm worried about nothing, I'm not impressed with the fact they're worrying me in the first place.

Nothing yet, but I only sent them a support email last night.

Regardless of what's actually going on, I don't think much of their accounting. I've never been in credit with a reasonably sized business, yet not seen that reflected on monthly statements. It's weird. And unsettling, given the large amount involved. I'm probably worrying about nothing, but why should I be given any reason to worry in the first place, you know?

I had a billing issue with a plumber once. They billed me again for work I'd already paid for.

Now, sit down, because this bit MIGHT blow you away.

But what happened was, I spoke to them and I explained what had happened and my god if they didn't apologise to me for the mistake and issue me with another statement to make it clear I didn't owe them anything.

I realise this is a wild approach and I suggest you examine it with caution before applying it to your situation.

maybe give them a chance to respond to the email, or give them a call. it could just have been a simple mistake, or they might have an issue with their system.

im sure its nothing nefarious

Yes, I get that it might just be a mistake or even a lax way of running things that still doesn't lead to incorrect billing. I still don't like it. I am allowed to not like it. Even in public :-)

Why is this such a radical thing?  Jeez, the OP hasn't even given the company a chance to address the issue and launched into a complaint, cluttering up Geekzone.  OP, please address it at the source before posting about it on here, it's not really what GZ is for.

This is just a simple billing mistake.

I’ll ask the team to credit this invoice today and send you your annual invoice.

I appreciate that, thank you.

BTW - how are the two free months handled?

The invoice covers a full 12 month period, even though you paid for 10.

If that's important to you, I think you'll need to request a mod to make it happen, as I no longer have the option to edit my post, sorry. If any mod is reading this, know that I've no objection.
