Hi all

Im about to move house, and need to decide which broadband provider to choose,
Ive had a bit of a search, and they all look the same to me, so am wanting some advice on which one to choose.

I live in invercargill, I dont use the home phone so dont want to have to sign up to this as well if I dont have to, I want a reliable connection, and use either 5gb or 10gb a month.

Is there any particular provider I should choose or will they all be pretty much the same??

Your question is like asking what party to vote for this election, everyone has their own opinion :)

If you want phone+broadband, Telecom is rock solid, works fine.

For naked DSL, I'd go with Vodafone - if you have a Vodafone mobile, pair it with your broadband conection, and you get $30 off a month.

Snap has great pricing as they just reviewed and updated their plans, they also have a fairly good reputation for customer service and reliability.

Snap Naked ADSL, $65 for 10GB

+1 for telecom.

I'd avoid slingshot if they do your area. Too many bad stories.

thanks for the advice guys,

are these so called 'naked' plans, where I dont have to have a home phone?

woudl these be a little less reliable/slower than a normal connection?

Standard ADSL must have a land line phone service
Naked ADSL just adsl no land line

Telecom do not offer naked adsl only Phone and ADSL packages.

Vodafone naked is a good option if you are a on account vodafone mobile user and/or if the mysky package discount appeals to you.

That was before EUBA and ethernet handover though right? Those were very big positive changes for ISP's like Snap, Xnet etc who were having peak time handover link issues.

Hi there. I've emailed Snap today because I'm also considering naked DSL. $55 for 5GB in Invercargill.

At the moment I get a few GB's for under $30 thanks to Wi-Fi across town to a mates place.

But $55 for naked DSL is very attractive, and Snap have some new options soon like all you can eat TVNZ on-demand and Youtube being mentioned in their latest coming soon news.
