It will run games to a point but as it is an older CPU, dont expect the latest stuff to run "nicely".
Stick with branded memory such as Kingston and you should be ok - Id recommend minimum of 1gb (if on XP)

Graphics cards wise youre a little limited these days with AGP. Ive got a 7600GS AGP card on my current system (Athlon 3200+) and while it does run games, it does struggle with some newer games but CoD4 runs nicely along with Counterstrike etc.

Im upgrading very soon so might have my current system for sale - dunno if Ill sell as parts or not, but if I do, feel free to make an offer on the video card if you still need one by then.......

BTW : What happened to the system that you had on your signature ?

Thanks xpd the setup is for simple use for my son and is purely fun to see how well an older machine performs on a an incredibly tight budget, plus they might learn some tricks about being resourceful. I just wasn't that sure about older builds.
Funny you should ask about my Rig, I still have the beast but only use it for home theatre and watching Freeview and it hums along beautifully. What are you thinkking of building?

Ah ok, they should have some fun with it once it has a semi decent vid card in it :)

Im getting an "old" system upgrade via a friend... he has a AMD FX60 with SLI 7900 video cards doing nothing and offered it to me Laughing Im throwing him some beer as a big thank you as Im still stuck on single core and theres a few games Id like to play that require dual core.

My current system was also mainly being used as a HTPC for the past 6 months, but now I have an Xbox taking over that role so a PC in the lounge is no longer required.

Nice work. That CPU is still very expensive! Would be keen to know how that performs with COD 5, I can play it but have to turn things right down.

Please Let me know if your're going to sell your vid card I might be keen as mustard.
