Not sure what the exact name of the thing im after is but the closes thing i can come up with would be some sort of digital audio output meter where the flucuations of the audio are shown on the meter. for example on most stereos there is a little meter that shows the flucuations of audio...for example if it was speech, as u talk the meter will fill but by how much or how fast it fills and falls would depend on the frequency i supose. well anyway im making a video for youtube and i have some speech in it and i want that speech to show on a meter like ones on the lcd on stereos.

might have made that more complicated than it could of been but hopefully someone will know what i mean and could tell me a software (preferably free) to which i can download and use.

cheers

In that case download Winamp

Winamp - http://www.winamp.com/

and get some of the plugins/visualizations that will give you a spectrum view of the mp3 file

PLUGINS: http://www.winamp.com/addons/search/spectrum

-or-

Try goldwave. It has spectrum analyser type thing.

Goldwave - http://www.goldwave.com/release.php

Control

Hope that helps.
