I have over 3,000 business cards that I havent been bothered to enter into my Gmail address book - any good business card scanners that snap a pic and then sort out all the contact details?

Cheers,
Jay

how about linking to everyone in LinkedIn and then configuring the phone to show linkedin contacts in People hub?

(sorry, never used a business card scan app on my WP7)

I have to get a blog post together, as I need to remember and record how exactly I did it - but last time I took

- Facebook
- Plaxo
- Various free form spreadsheets of contact details
- LinkedIn
- Xobni

And some other sources I cant remember and then did this uber linking of all the different contact places I had, back into Gmail and then worked through Picasa to face tag and upload to Gmail contacts, all those who I had pics for, and also there was a facebook profile pic downloading app, which then uses those images.

As I work in Gmail, I have the Xobni / Smartr plugin, so then you can link to other social media as you are are emailing them, and it searches / finds their profiles online.

The end result was that I have Gmail contacts which can be de-duped quite smartly, and most with mugshots so then I have the contact details and a profile pic of most people you have worked with etc.

But for the moment, I was just not wanting to have to type up 3000+ business cards in one go!

Cheers!
J

Hey that looks awesome - I have some gmail / email folders also with heaps of contact details in a messy format (eg signature blocks), is it able to read that in?

Cheers,

J

Yea I see no reason why not. Having seen particular formats before makes a big help in our accuracy but we should be able to find global trends in your sigs that would allow extraction.
