Hi,
Anyone able to help me try and use my xda II to connect to the internet through my bluetooth network at home? I know you can sync with bluetooth but unlike the ipaq or dell axim there is no sign of any pass through software. Whats up with that??! do they think we don't need it or something?
Is there some add on for activesync that i can downlaod for my xda or is this attempting the impossible??
I am actually using a mac and usb bluetooth adapter to sync with my xda II but i don't expect help configureing that but if anyone else out there uses pocket mac and has succeeded at connecting to the internet through a bluetooth network HELP ME!!!!!!!
Forget the mac business just help me with the XDA and when i get it to work i'll inlighten all of you how mac's are superior. Hows that sound for a deal?

appreciate the help

Dave

The Bluetooth software on the XDA II/i-mate does not have the LAP or PAN profile at this moment. You can connect to ActiveSync and then browse the Internet while connected, exactly like you can do if using the cradle, though.

The performance will not be the same as using PAN or LAP, because ActiveSync will use a little of the bandwidth for its own things.

Heres the thing, you'd think it would be the same with a mac but it aint. When i dock or bluetooth sync it doesn't access the internet through the computer. I'm in the process of setting up a laptop to try this whole passthrough thing which i gather is possible with the XDA from what you wrote. Only problem with that is the laptop at the moment has only one usb port!! Darn you Dell! I need least two, of course so ho ho time to hub it. :)
Are you sure if i sync it it will let me use the computers internet connection?
Btw i love PMV, my most valuble program on my ppc. You don't know anywhere i could download some vids for it??

Thanks again!

Oh, I missed that. I don't think you'll have Internet Passthrough on the Mac... Silly, because it was very clear on your post.

Also, see http://www.anycom.com/gb/home/framehome.htm .

Their manual says the Bluetooth Access Point also supports devices with only the dial-up profile. So this might be a solution for you.
