Gidday,

Is some nice clever geek able to create a definitive table of each of the WP7 devices, and which NZ networks they will work on? I am sure it will solve a lot of headaches for new buyers (including me).

Thanks in advance,

Matthew

If it says it supports UMTS 850mhz, then it will work, otherwise it won't. :) It's not that complicated.

So any device that supports UMTS 850mhz will work anywhere on any NZ mobile network?

EDIT: This may prove to be a bit restrictive according to this comparison chart

This has been discussed a lot of time in other topic and applies to ALL phones.

UMTS 850MHz will work on Telecom XT in 3G/HSDPA

UMTS 900MHz and UMTS 2100MHz will work on Vodafone/2Degrees in 3G/HSDPA, GSM 900MHz and 1800MHz will work as well in 2G (GSM) / 2.5G (EDGE)

I'm sure it has, but I am trying to apply this just to the current available models of WP7 phones

UMTS 850MHz will work on Telecom XT in 3G/HSDPA

UMTS 900MHz and UMTS 2100MHz will work on Vodafone/2Degrees in 3G/HSDPA, GSM 900MHz and 1800MHz will work as well in 2G (GSM) / 2.5G (EDGE)

Therefore the only WP7 phones that will work with Telecom XT are the HTC HD7, HTC Mozart and the LG Optimus 7Q.

Whereas theoretically these (in the right configuration) and all others listed here will work with Vodafone/2deg/TestraClear.

Thanks for the info,

Matthew

Just an update. clove.co.uk have updated their Dell venue pro page and confirmed few things today.

1. Clove.co.uk's model will only support UMTS 900mHz and UMTS 2100mHz

2. Dell venue pro does indeed have an expandable micro sd slot and it is the only 2 models confirmed so far now (Samsung focus is another one) which can be upgraded with additional memory with uo to 32GB memory support.

3. Onboard memory is 8GB

Do whatever you want to do man.
