Seems to be an improvement, the biggest one being the improvement of the rotation feature. Much more sensitive and natural than the previous firmware.

hmmm, it's a bit empty in this part of the forum. Everyone buzzing over their new Androids and iPhones? ;-)

Updated, seems a lot snappier now. Alas, it will be my last symbian phone too... Long live Android!

Updated it and turned it off again, as I'm a droid fan now. Must sell the 5800

Thanks for the heads up! Seems to be a great improvement in general speed of my 5800, having 1300 msgs in my inbox brought my phone to a crawl but now seems to be fine...

note to self: should probably go through and delete some txts Cool

I'm not sure everyone is buzzing about their Android or iPhone.  These platforms have their issues as well, just different ones from Symbian.  I'm yet to be convinced that they are any better overall.  Different, Yes, but minuses and plusses. It just depends on what irks or pleases you most.

What is heartening is the fact that Nokia are still providing updates to a platform that even though is still currrent has been superseded.

I had noticed the change in the rotation feature with the upgrade to v51.  The phone needs to be held much more vertical to get the change over from portrait to landscape.  It took a bit of getting used to but it works quite well once you get used to it and did stop the screen rotating when you didn't expect it too e.g. when you laid the phone flat.  Obviously v52 has made further changes to the rotation feature.

Yes, had a problem trying load a new app the other day, there was plenty of space on the memory card, (about 5 Gig) but the I kept getting a message saying not enough space on either the C or E drives.  It had me a bit baffled.  I had about 900 texts, I deleted these and hey presto! the installations worked perfectly.

Thanks for the heads up. Did an OTA update. Glad to see that Nokia are still providing updates for this device. The rotation does seem much better.

Yeah big kudos to Nokia for keeping providing updates. v52 rotation is much improved in my opinion. I actually update every now and again in the vain hope that bluetooth audio to my HTPC will start working... No luck so far.

The 5800 does all I need, I won't be moving to a new phone any time soon.
