I have two compaq evo n1020v laptops with build-in bluetooth module.
how can I connect?
I have downloaded the compaq software et. (55mb) and installed but I cannot get any response.

Compaq tech service was unable to guide me as they don't know themselves.

I have no idea how to start the module etc. After installation of the software, there was no icon in the tray as indicated in the readme-file.

Please anyone help me out.

Lance, what are you trying to achieve? Share an Internet connection between then, transfer files, connect serial ports?

We have a couple of Bluetooth Guides (look at the last ones) that show how to do it with Widcomm based stacks.

According to this HP page these are the profiles available:

  • General Access Profile
  • Service Discovery Application Profile
  • Serial Port Profile
  • Generic Object Exchange Profile
  • File Transfer Profile
  • Synchronization Profile
  • Dial-Up Networking Profile
  • LAN Access Profile
  • Object Push Profile

You should be able to perform these operations between both laptops.
