i recently bought a thomson TG585 off a friend of mine thinking everything would just work when i plugged it in. to my dismay i discovered that i needed to enter some username and password that i had "received from telecom" the username is an email address.

the thing is, my internet connection is with vodafone(ihug) so i don't have a telecom username or password.

how can i get around this so i can use this router?
do i see if i have a vodafone password and username i could use?
or do i get my friend to find out theirs and put it in for me??

They aren't locked

1: Find out your vodafone username and password for your adsl connection (eg: Username:  yourusername@vodafone.co.nz Password: youpassword)
2: In the Thomson's admin UI on the Broadband Connection page, under Internet Services, click Disconnect and it should prompt you for a username/password to reconnect
3: Enter your vodafone login details and connect

According to here:

"it shouldnt be locked.

the gateway is http://192.168.1.254/
the default username is Administrator and no password - so it shouldnt ask you for any login"
