Hi

I have a brand new Compaq running XP SP2 and cannot seem to get bluetooth working.  Have downloaded the latest bluetooth software from HP and have the icons in the try and Control Panel but continue to get message saying "Bluetooth device not found. Please verify that your Bluetooth device is properly connected and turned on."
Wireless works fine and device manager reports no other problems.  Have read the threads in this forum and no solution there - have also checked Microsoft Support but cannot get to BT configuration to try any of the suggestions.
Am trying to connect a Telecom Apache - did this successfully with my previous laptop which was a nx7010.

Can anyone help?

Are you sure there's a Bluetooth device on this laptop? Some laptops come as "Bluetooth ready" but actually no Bluetooth hardware.

Otherwise, you should have a function key combination to turn Bluetooth on and off. Look for that.

Must admit I am beginning to wonder but all the spec sheets for this laptop indicate BT2.0 installed - my previous nx7010 had BT so assumed the same with this one.
