FYI I have no experience of any automation systems. I have no idea what openhab or zwave is or how to use them. But I can learn if I need to.

I would prefer a ready made solution to my needs though.

So I have a DSC PC1616 alarm and a Dominator garge opener. I would like to be able to pull up to my house in my car and tell Google Assistant to open the door and turn off the alarm. What do I need to do this in a simple way?

I have looked at the Wemo Maker as a simple solution to automating the garage opener. Even thought they seem hard to find to buy now. Then I see someone mentioned here that they have a Envisalink module for their alarm that can control the garage door as well. This looks like more the thing I am after as a solution to both problems in one go. But then how to I control it via GA?

Any info or alternative methods would be appreciated.

If you get the Google Home to respond to your devices, then you can use the Assistant to talk to GH.

Based on your post I just tried it and after long pressing the Home key, bringing up the Assistant I was able to say "turn on stairs" and my stairs light (which are under the control of GH) came on.

I am sure if you had GH control over your garage (there are many guides out there), then you could do the same.

I should have added that my lights are emuate Hue bulbs but any HA system that GH supports would work.

I don't have experience of your alarm but I have an Elite-S system.

It was very easy to connect an output of that alarm to my garage door opener, so the alarm can control the garage door. I then got the IP module for my Alarm, which allows me to control it via my phone (including setting / unsetting alarm and opening / closing garage door). It isn't integrated with Google Home, but that is a future step if I want. What this solution is is simple and relatively inexpensive - and all integrated with the alarm.

Note I also had to wire a sensor to the garage door and an additional zone in order to "see" if the garage door was open or not.

A quick google shows your alarm has a PGM which should be able to control the garage door and various IP related accessories. If you are after ready made, perhaps speak to a local alarm installer, they should know what options you have. If you want to roll your own, start looking more into Raspberry pi related projects...
