Had no place to discuss this so yeah.

Also I'm wondering, My carrier settings are gone is their anyway to get them back on iOS4 im sick of entering a text and getting the could not connect error :(

So whats your thoughts on iOS4

Hi,
Re. carrier settings - depends what carrier you're on. I would expect Vodafone to update via iTunes, but Telecom & 2 Degrees would have to be manually entered. There's been quite a bit of helpful carrier discussion at http://www.iphonewzealand.co.nz

Working well on my 3GS. Upgrade process took about 15 minutes. Make sure you do a manual backup BEFORE upgrading, I've heard lots of people saying that the backup process during upgrade can take over half an hour if you're unlucky, so doing it manually helps avoid that.

The 3GS is a lot snappier, I've reduced 7 pages of apps down to one page of folders and I'm pretty happy with it in general :)

My 3GS update was quite fast abt 15 mins, but my 2G iPod Touch was much longer, about 1 hour. From what i have heard the 3G iPhone & 2G iPod Touch take longer to upgrade. (slower processor?)
Apart from that all went well and operating as expected.

My only gripe (again) is no FM Radio!!! Come on Apple not everyone has unlimited broadband access for media streaming.

i unfortunately have a jail broken iphone 3g (bought from trademe, didnt know it was jailbroken) so i guess i have to wait till theres a "Blacksn0w" version????

My 3G was jailbroken I upgraded worked fine just got rid of all my apps that were downloaded from Installous & I just re-jailbroke with RedSn0w works perfect and my 3G now even has Multitasking and Wallpapers

No game center sucks though :\ Wonder if thats gonna come out anytime?

I Have upgraded but am waiting for a jailbreak for iPod 3G. Did your installous apps reinstall after rejailbreaking with redsnow? I hope they do!!

Unfortunetly no :( I was quite dissapointed too as lots of mine were through installous. Ohwell I'll redownload :\

Yep worked for me, Any jailbroken stuff will be removed though.

Is anyone else having trouble with mail. My MobileMe account is syncing fine but Google ActiveSync Exchange is completely broken!!! anyone else?

So Correct me if im wrong, But I really havent been "wowed" by this update. In all honesty I dont really know what I was expecting. But for the average "Joe Blog" User nothing really seems that great.

Sure the folders, multitasking is fine. What ht else is there really? Word count on your messages,Wall Paper on all screens.

What am i missing here? Dont get me wrong its all fine, but im not exactly Amazed.

I know it's early days but I would like to know whether multitasking really eats up the battery life?

I'm really disappointed that I cant have home screen wallpapers. I have an iPod touch second generation which was brought in december. I mean, I've had jailbroken themes on my iPod before which have wallpapers on homescreen and it works perfect. I don't see that it could be like, power hungry. Every other phone with less ram can handle that

Yep, so no contacts, mail or calendars for me :( rather big price to pay for a background picture if you ask me.
