Figured it was worth a shot asking here. My father in0law has asked for help to be able to stream music to his old stereo system he has out in his shed.

Does anyone have an old Airport Express at the back of the cupboards they'd be willing to move on? Gen 1 or Gen 2 doesn't matter as he doesn't need the multi-room capabilities of Airplay 2.

Cheers

If he isnt wed to apple, then an echo dot is a good alternative to get audio on an old stereo. And easy to find too.

@Senecio

I have one: AirPort Express 802.11n (1st Generation)

Original boxs x 2

Make a sensible offer plus postage outside of Tauranga

Comes with airport express stereo connection kit with monster cables M9573X/A, which were sold separately

Which includes:

• Airport Express power cord
• Mini stereo to dual RCA monster cable
• Mini optical digital to digital toslink monster cable

Edit: Now sold to another geekzone member 😀

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

I've got a 1st gen Airport Express which is surplus to requirements. Just have to find the box it's been hiding in haha.

I'd be happy with $30 plus whatever postage is to get it to you. I'm in Palmy.

Thanks all. I've managed to source one from a work colleague. Found at the back of junk drawer so he didn't want anything for it.
