I noticed a chance to data clock kicks in tomorrow and hadn't seen anybody mention it on here. Clearly there must have been a few too many people using the $6 day pack as a permanent Internet connection!

You only get 40GB per month at full speed now before being limited to 1Mbps.

Important update: We’re all about fighting for fair. We want to make sure our network doesn’t slow anyone down. That’s why from 15 April 2019 Data Clock max speeds will be reduced to 1Mbps after 40GB/month, to stop anyone hogging the fast lane.

I guess there were many people abusing their daily data clock and tethering (as this is allowed IIRC). Basically a few people wrecked it for everyone else.

40gb is still bloody decent, I wonder if it would be better defined as unless you've also spend x dollars.

I've just jumped back to 2dgrees within the last 24 hours after a few years with skinny direct on their grandfathered initial offering.

It's the data clock that convinced me to go back because I use all my data in 1-2 hour window daily so the low data offer on their prepay offset by the clock option appears practical.

Agreed. 40GB is tons per month

I have been receiving notifications about this change for well over a month now.

They’re giving 1 hour free every day still as well when I last looked at web site $19 up.

I’m tempted to buy a 2degrees slim and see if I still have it going to 3G when 4G available problem on data clock, things might have improved since they turned off 2G.

Looking better deal then Skinny, but since going to Skinny 4G has been rock solid.

Edit: People could get around the 40 GB by having a second SIM.
