Always loved 2degrees but tonight's experience might put an end to that.

I'm moving flat soon and the place I'm going to already has a connection and fibre installed. No worries, I asked 2degrees on Facebook, and after some research, they told me it was possible to get a 900/400 connection on port 2.

Fast forward to Wednesday, I call 2degrees and ask my connection to be moved to ONT port 2 at the new place on Sunday or Monday, whatever worked best. Rep sounds unsure but I insist and they submit the request. They say I will get a call that evening.

Today I had the follow-up call around midday from a really nice guy just confirming it all. All is good he understands perfectly. I ask him to let me know the time it's planned, as I have some websites I'm hosting that I don't want to be offline for too long. He says he'll call me back tomorrow.

Later today I get a text that reads "Hi, 2degrees here. Looks like ADDRESS already has broadband. If it's yours TXT us your current provider and account number (e.g. Spark 99287681). If it's someone else's TXT N. Or if you're moving into the address reply with your move-in date. Please reply to this TXT to keep the ball rolling.".

I reply saying the connection there is not mine and I want my connection on port 2. And it should be connected on Sunday or Monday. I figure, I'll wait until I hear back from the person that called me today.

7 pm tonight my WAN connection goes down, called 2degrees and after about an hour and a half of on-hold I'm told my connection has been moved to the new property, and the person that called me earlier had set the connection to be moved ASAP? And there's no point restoring the connection because that will delay things even further. And to add to that, the new place isn't even connected because they're trying to confirm if the connection there is mine, which at every step of the process I've said it's not, and the connection needed to be moved to port 2 which I'd confirmed was possible at the very start.

I normally say I'm pretty patient but this experience has tested that for sure.

Pretty sure you can only get 100/20 on port 2 anyway.

Not sure if it’s already in place, but Chorus was planning on enabling it…

Has changed recently I believe, I was advised I may see slightly lower speeds than normal but that doesn't bother me.

Multiple Primaries is not due to be available until early next year. If you PM me with your account or address details, I'll get the 2D SDM across your issue and will see if we can sort something out for you. Please let me know what you want - do you require the connection reinstated at your old address or do you need a connection acivated at the new one already?

Update, I've still not had any confirmation or anything from 2degrees acknowledging the port 2 scenario.

Hopefully on Monday then... I really hope I won't get billed for the days it's been off.
