I am on a Gigabit plan, this evening getting very slow download and upload speeds, these are ranging 7-15mbps download and circa 25-50mbps upload.

I have restarted network including ONT. speeds tested via wired ethernet. No changes have been made to network and no new devices.

Any other Orcon/2Degrees customers experiencing same? problem started mid evening.

2degrees Legacy here - seeing normal speeds.

It'll be good if you could let us know where you're based and where you're testing to?

I'm in lower Hutt.
Previously did speediest using speed.novaconnect.nz. can't reach that anymore. Okla speediest was next.
I'll fume if I get put on cgnat. Slingshot assured me when I signed up in Nov that they had no plans to change from dynamic public addresses. I ssh into my home machines.
Noticed the other night that speed was going to custard. Time to restart router?

I have checked everything and rebooted ONT and Router. Turned off devices and tested, still crazy slow. Only planned outages on Orcon network status

Slingshot Gigabit Dunedin. Speeds all good for me.

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

I'm not with 2D or any of their other brands and can't connect to speed.novaconnect.nz
I'd say it is down.

Not sure what cgnat has to do with speed issues you might be experiencing.

Yup there are definately speed issues on the Orcon - well now 2degrees network but seems to be limited to certain areas. Perhaps parts of Wellington? I am in Woodridge.

Starting noticing this ~ 8pm 10-03/2023
I monitor my speeds hourly and since 8pm - they have turned terrible, Have confirmed on multiple sites/devices etc. All wired.

Results are all over the place and it seems that upload has gone to shite! This is on my speedtest device which runs tests hourly and is wired. Never had an issues for several years.

Anyone from 2degrees - Orcon etc. that could look into this?

Thanks

Speeds are back to normal now. Going back through my speedtest scans which run hourly - saw this happen on the 5th of March as well between 6pm and midnight!

@Jiriteach

What device do you use that does speed test hourly automatically and how to set this up?
