Ok, here is the situation.

Currently I am on slingshot's old inferno plan which is about $60 a month for fs/fs and 15 GB tranfer.

I have asked to change to the newer pro plan which is also about $60 a month for fs/fs and 25 GB transfer.

So the plans cost the same and are both full speed.

But no, I cannot change my plan immediately, I have to wait for anniversary(another 3 weeks), so this month I don't get the extra 10 GB.

So, why should I have to wait?
They don't have to do anything to the connection itself or even change the billing amount.
They just have to change in their own system the plan I'm on.

I have been told that it's a no can do from slingshot because they 'can't change their system'.

What absolute rubbish, anyone with even half a brain woiuld know the very little it takes to make the change.

I am so frustrated I am thinking on running back to telecom, who at least try to accomodate a users requests or find some workaround to acheive something similar(Perhaps ust crediting my account some transfer to make it equal??!!).

I think this kind of thing is just very poor, it leaves users with a sour taste, the sort that makes them want to share their disgust with the world.

Slingshot, sharpen up!

Dr Ragnor prescribes a reading of this blog post (make sure you read the entire post especially the last paragraph or so).

.. then new send a message/request to Slingshot on their twitter or their own official forums.

3 weeks, that sounds like you have to wait until the start of your next billing round for the plan to be upgraded or changed.
Which is normal and nothing to stress about. They normally do the change a couple of days before the end of the billing period, so you will have 25GB to use in two days and then get another 25GB when you plan resets. Look in Visibill.co.nz for the dates of when your plan changes.

They don't do it straight away as your BB plans are paid in advance, so any changes happen at the start of the next billing month.

Slingshot don't have an official forums, they have an unofficial one, but since ScottH has gone there is little hope of that becoming an official support system, which is kind of sad, as Orcon & Vodafone have official forums.

ScottH has left Slingshot and gone to the UK to work and play.

Yeah basically billing systems are complex and expensive to develop and change. Lots of places prefer to avoid the complexity of pro rata charges for plan changes mid billing period.

If you've ever seen a Telecom bill where you're changed plan mid month it's been known to drive people insane.
