HI guys,

as reference:

I am having problems for italk, I am using the softphone for testing to eliminate any hardware related issue.

everytime I made a outbound call, it took me more than 30 seconds waiting for the calls to be routed.


Slingshot said it is NORMAL. NOT A FAULT. it would take up to 60 seconds for a call to be routed.

even I am making a 5 seconds quick call........

but most of my frends using italking saying they need to wait 5 seconds max.


I would like to find out how long you are waiting dialing local calls?

Hi,

I can see from tracing your line that some of your calls connect in as little as 69ms PDD.

As mentioned in the email i am also looking at some other options to see if we can improve your overall performance.

I just want to find out if the long wating issue is only happen on me.


if most of people experiencing long waiting issue, I will close my mouth then looking for better VOIP provider.

just tried mine through my SIP softphone calling the telecom 0800 000 000 line. Took about 2 seconds to connect.

but I can confirm I do need to wait more than 35 seconds while I am on slingshot network.


so probably somewhere else is wrong?

I can see from the line traces that the longest PDD in the last 12 days is just shy of 3500ms.

This is nowhere near the 35 sec you mention. This means that for some reason your calls are taking 31.5 secs before coming to our network.

Only causes I can think of for this are CPE (The IP Phone or device) or the wireing/line itself.

Do you find you have any other internet issues? Disconnections, Speed issues etc? anything that may reflect a line fault?

my download and web browsing experience is fine.

Before moving house I was using italk for over a year with minimal delays on outbound calls ie a couple of seconds, using the provided ata or on a softphone.

Only time I have had long delays is when my dialplan was incomplete, so I could hit # after dialing and it would happen straight away, otherwise there was a timeout.

Oh, and the usual long delay when calling a mobile, but that isnt slingshot's fault.

liuyanbiao - it turned out this problem related to the router you were using? Yes? And Slingshot solved your problem?
