Hi All,

I recently bought a dvb-s usb tuner for my HTPC set-up. I currently also have mySky HDI, so i need to split the feed from the satelite to the two devices. Do I just use an unpowered splitter or do i need a diplexer?

Also, would 75ohm cable suffice?

At least 1 leg needs to have power pass-through for sat to be able to power the LNB (and allow polarity and 22k switching)

It also means similar to a single tuner, depending on what transponder is being watched other channels/polarity may not be available.

The alternate if you have the dual throad LNB with 4 outlets on it, is use the secondary and run another cable to the standard decoder

You would only use a diplexer if you had one cable to your sat dish and wanted to have a terrestrial antenna use the same cable to save running an extra cable just for the terrestrial feed.
May be this article might explain it better.

To slit signal as you are doing, then a splitter , either single or double power pass.

Diplexers are used to combine signals, ie sat/ter uhf/vhf
