I am currently running the following: HVR4000, DVB-S, MediaPortal, TV Server.

When i try and scan to see what channels are available in tv server, it tells me 'no signal', even though it the signal level is at full.

Im using the sharp LNB on a sky 60cm dish with the following settings

LOF1 11300
LOF2 11300
Switch Freq 0

ive followed the instructions at http://mcraenz.googlepages.com/ but to no success.

Can someone please help.

Hi Grant,

It took me a while to get sat working due to the dish not being properly aligned. Are you 100% sure its pointed at D1 and the polarisation is correct? I wouldn't trust the signal level indication in MP - use a dish alignment meter.

Yes the sat is aligned properly as I get Freeview on my set top box using the same cable.

I hope its not the tuner onthe card that is not working.

Any more ideas?

When you scan in MP config have you checked that the Freeview (Optus D1 160deg) sat is selected. If so, can you see it scanning the correct frequencies (takes a few minutes)?

I just googled the sharp LNB and it came back as a LOF 10700. Try this instead of 11300

The configuration menu of your freeview STB should tell you what LNB setting it is using to make the dish work. Mine says 10750.

Ensure you have included the D1-12483.ini D1-12456.ini and freeview.ini files in your tuningparameters file and that the lines referencing them in the 'satellites' file are included.

Have you got WinTV (software should have come with HVR4000) installed? You can attempt to manually tune using that as well. May alleviate any doubts about the card. Just a word of warning about WinTV tho', I had to uninstall the CD4.2 version of it because it seemed to conflict with Mediaportal. But if its there and not interfering it may be worth a crack.

the two sky lnb's are 11300 and 10750, so try the 10750.

I have a HVR4000 and TV Server on vista 64bit, almost all the recent svns won't tune any channels so i have to use 17991 which is stable for me and tunes the sat channels properly. Also try using different lnb settings, if the one on your sky dish is an oval shape you should be using 10750 and if it's a circle it should be 11300

I tried version 17991, but there must be problems with it because I could only see DVB-T in the settings page.

My card is receiving DVB-T although it is jittery.

Is there any test software out there that could tell me for sure that the signal is getting into DVB-S plug.

I have the round lnb so im pretty sure 11300 is correct.

Hazza87 your a legend thank you. Im now getting full signal with version 17991.

now ill have to figure out how I use the rest of the software

With the DVB-S, mine didn't work til I set the LOF SW to 12750 instead of 0, something to do with the 22kHz tone.

LOF1 11300
LOF2 11300
Switch Freq 12750

Has any had any trouble with the aspect ratio? Im getting black lines at the top and bottom on my 16:9 acer3705dtv.
Ive tried changing the ffdshow settings but there is so many variables.

Has anyone got a screen shot or list of settings they are using.

@Hazza87: Are you saying that 17991 works but 18032 won't? I'd like to get to the bottom of that if it's affecting all HVR4K users.

I haven't tried that particular svn but i have tried a vareity of others in the 1800's (18062, 18123, 18513, 18560) and have found similar problems to the older 1700 ones. Not sure if you remember but when i first got the card it would not work for DVB-S for a long time until someone suggested i try 16534 ( Something about before a ts filter changed) then i was able to scan for dvb-s channels. Well a similar problem now with 1800 ones it won't scan for channels on DVB-S (seemed to work on terrestrial) But it will keep the old channels scanned in previously. Tv Server will either not do anything at all or will crash. I can't help thinking this is more specific to my system than just the HVR4000 perhaps to do with Vista 64bit aswell. Would be happy to keep testing things though if you wish.
