I have noticed the last couple of weeks that the centre channel on my home theatre system has no sound coming out during jono and Ben TV show. It still has the dolby surround logo on the receiver. Anyone noticed this or know the reason why?

I've never known the show to be 5.1, only stereo.

TV3 broadcasts fulltime 5.1 AC3 and AAC audio streams, but you'll only have centre channel audio on AC3 with shows that are true 5.1

It’s probably not a 5.1 sound program?

Tv3 puts everything through as 5.1, even when it’s not, for the non 5.1 stuff it means sound out left and right speakers only. Where TVNZ process’s the non 5.1 stuff so it comes out all channels.

I love the 5.1 movies TV3, because when then non 5.1 adds come on the sound goes all quiet.

If it’s only started recently Jono & Ben, they must’ve changed way they record it, I just watch it through TV speakers.

It’s only left and right for me to, Predators on now, it’s full 5.1 that’s coming out every speaker.
