Hi, I just purchased a Hauppage HVR-1700.  I'm running Windows 7 Pro.  The drivers are installed but when I go through the TV Setup in WMC, and scan for DVB-T channels, it finds nothing.  If I scan analogue, it works perfectly and the clarity is excellent (as far as analogue goes).  I know the aerial is very strong....

Any ideas? I am at a loss.

Are you sure you can get Freeview|HD where you are? Only the main centres are covered and even then not everywhere.

Also are you sure your aerial is UHF not VHF?

I'm in the CBD in Auckland.
I can pick up all free-to-air channels via analogue, so that suggests it's UHF right?

I spoke to Hauppauge in Singapore, they are at a loss as well as to why its not working, they have given me the go ahead for an RMA on the card.

However, just to be sure, I'm going to take my PC to my Dad's place tonight.  He has working freeview, so if I plug it into his aerial and it still doesn't work, game over.

FYI, I tried WinTV and VLC as well, no luck.

So I took my PC to my dad's place and bam! found all the digital channels instantly. I am living in an apartment building that is only 3 years old and I can pick up UHF analogue channels crystal clear...

I'm confused.

Luckily I am moving at the end of the month, just have to hope my new apartment does not have the same problem.
