Can anyone please recommend some .com.au domain register who:

  • is in NZ

  • offers easy DNS/Contact details management interface

  • takes credit card payment

  • has fair charges

Thanks very much

Dont know if you'll find any actually due to the way the .com.au system is handled...

In order to register a .com.au domain name, you'll need to be eligible. To be eligible, registrants need to fulfil one of the following criteria, being either:

A company registered in Australia; or
operating under a registered business name in any Australian State or Territory; or
an Australian partnership or sole trader; or
an overseas company licensed to trade in Australia; or
an owner of an Australian Registered Trade Mark; or
an applicant for an Australian Registered Trade Mark ; or
an association incorporated in any Australian State or Territory; or
an Australian commercial statutory body.

The above also applies to .net.au names.

@xpd, we got one for our client almost 2 years ago with WebAddress.
We found their DNS management and contact details interface is pretty hard to use. And they charge $100.00 + GST for 2 years, which is quite dear I think. So just want a change before the next renewal.

I use http://www.domains4less.com.au/ which also has an NZ site http://www.domains4less.co.nz. The web control panels are easy to use and you can pay by credit card.

Forgot to mention, they also provide prompt service for any questions etc, and no I dont work for them.

thanks :)

just looked at them, and realised they use the controlpanel like webdrive. To be honest it's DNS template concept is a bit weird to me.

I have used http://www.freeparking.co.nz for some time. Based in Taranaki last time I checked. Support is genuinely technical and excellent (although I haven't needed to call or contact them for a couple of years now). They were also happy to set domain attributes via email - which I found very useful at one time. They handle .com.au domains as well. Good pricing. Recommend.
