Hi All,

I updated the firmware on my Samsung Galaxy S last night from the standard Telecom issue firmware. I did it with the instructions via this link:

The update worked fine and phone powered back up normally.

But...

I can ring out, but cannot get any phone calls or TXT messages, nor can I browse the web. I've tried entering all the APN settings etc but nothing seems to work.

Is there something I am doing wrong, or a better way to upgrade the firmware?

Reading up the information on the website, it appears that the update is for Samsung Galaxy S GT I9000 only and not for any other models. The model that Telecom sells is Samsung Galaxy S I9000T. You could try reflashing another modem.

Can someone please be a massive help and provide some files to use?

I'd like to get it up and running with froyo...

Its a possibility that you have disabled 850Mhz. Is your reception okay? Type in *#0011#, and the third option will tell you which band you are on.

If you want to check the enabled frequencies, you can try these instructions.

One of the guys here has a i5800 from Voda and the menu looks the same so he's going to try it with his XT SIM
