Hi guys,
so i have a weird one..well seems weird to me. If i view through my AV channel, i can see all sky channels plus TVNZ et al.
However, if i slip my TV onto the HDMI channel, all i can see are sky channels ( incl Prime ) but ONLY AUDIO for TV 1, 2 and 3
The whole problem has me stumped as it can be anything to do with any video cables as that would then remove any video link of the channels that i CAN view ( ie , sky channels)

any ideas?

cheers,
simon

1,2 and 3 are all 1080i. Can you view other HD channels OK?

Sounds like your HDMI is outputting a resolution that your TV can't handle?
Try setting a different resolution. I don't have a MySky but there must be something in the setup menu needs changing or possibly even in the TV menu.

Hi - yes, all other HD channels are fine. When i switch to tv 1, 2 or 3 - all i get is audio. By switching to AV on the tv, both video and audio play.

I thought at one point i needed the HD ticket, but on researching on sky website  - thats not neccessary, so im a little lost on this one

If you don't have an HD ticket there are no other HD channels other then 1,2,3.

If you go into settings, look for picture ones, see where it's got HDCP, does it have the word successful, or failure after it?
This is with picture going through HDMI.

Have you tried another HDMI cable? Might be the cable at fault.

Sounds like an HDCP issue to me, what brand of TV? And have you tried and alternate HDMI cable?

yep, aware there will be no other HD channels, but 1, 2 and 3 should work. Went into settings etc - and yeah says HDCP Failed. Any ideas why that would be and/or how i fix it?
Thanks for isolating the problem - now just need a fix :-)

Tried resetting your sky unit as per the red button (see the manual or manual on sky website).
Actually, just call SKY... they will talk you through it or send a tech. Afterall you DO PAY them.

I had same problem when first hooked up my TV, took three attempts to fix it.

Don't know if I got lucky but things I did,

Unplugged TV from wall 20 seconds then plugged back in.

unplugged Sky from HDMI and plugged into different HDMI on TV.

unplugged anything else in different HDMI's so only sky connected to TV.

Once the HDCP successful came up, found it not to be so fussy from then on, it was like it had to work out it's start codes or something.

Things to try, seem crazy but worked for me.
