Anyone else get this survey today?

Looks as though sky will be putting out an app which allows streaming (ala isky) on tablets and smartphones.

They also mentioned in the survey of trying to get ISPs/Telco to uncap broadband and mobile data for $2.50 per month.

I'm quite interested. Could make for some more entertaining train rides.

I would estimate the chance of getting unmetered mobile data to a video streaming app for 2.50 per month to be approximately zero.

Hi,

You might want to have a look at the Belkin @TV

http://www.belkin.com/au/null-Belkin/p/P-G1V1000

I've been streaming my sky box to my iPhone & iPad (& remote PCs) for sometime.

Works so good I've had to buy a 2nd one as the kids keep using it and u can only have one connection at a time.

Hope it's as good as the tvnz one. Picture quality is brilliant.
Chews through data though.

I really hope they work on bumping up the quality on isky next

I understand a lot of people won't be able to stream then, so offer different bitrates.

If I could get 700-1000kb/s I would be happy, bu the current streams bit rate is waaaay too low

Would definitely use an app though

i did the survey and it looks like they are looking at how popular isky is and would you watch sky on tablets/ smart phones and where would you watch it and in my case would you pay $10 a month to do it.

Common sense is not as common as you think.

The annoying thing about the TVNZ app (which will also happen with the Sky app I presume) is that it blocks streaming from the device the app is on to any other monitor. Damn thing detects my HDMi cable from my iPad and won't let me watch on my PC or TV screen. They say they are prevented from allowing this due to contracts with the content suppliers.

Having everyone sitting around watching the same show on iPads sure eats data :-(

Looks like a nice solution, can you change channels with it when using it on Sky? I assume that this would also allow you output to HDMI from your device?
