From StopPress: Sky keeps one eye on the future with ondemand, mobile and time-shifted developments.

Sky has just soft-launched its shiny new brand identity 'Come With Us'. But the changes don't stop there, because it's made a number of upgrades to its online and ondemand platform iSky, it plans to offer live streaming on its mobile and tablet apps soon and there are a number of other developments in the pipeline planned for next year.

Head of Corporate comms Kirsty Way says it’s no secret its online viewing platform iSky, which was launched in 2011, has groaned under the weight of high-interest events at times, so in an effort to deliver more reliable, higher quality service, it has switched its content delivery network from Orcon to Akamai.

“It was an issue. It’s quite common knowledge we’ve had some trouble when the volume was high. And we only expect that volume to grow.”

She wouldn’t discuss specifics around iSky usage, but Nielsen Online Ratings show the site was visited by 84,000 people in June 2013, compared to 79,000 in June 2012. The average number of sessions per person in June 2013 was 4.63 and they spent 17m 39s minutes per session.
